YVR limousine pickup is straightforward when your arrival category, meeting point and pickup timing are confirmed before you fly. Domestic passengers and international or U.S. passengers use different exits at Vancouver International Airport, and the curb is intended for immediate loading rather than waiting.
Royal Limo provides pre-arranged Vancouver airport transfers with chauffeured cars and limousines. When booking, confirm whether your service includes an inside-terminal meet-and-greet or a driver-directed curbside pickup.
Domestic and international pickup at a glance
| Arrival type | Where to go | Typical planning window |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic | Follow “Arrivals – Canada.” Exit through Door 24 on Level 1 Airport Services Plaza, then go past the first crosswalk to the public passenger pickup area. | About 30–45 minutes after landing |
| International or U.S. | Follow “Arrivals – International and USA.” Exit through Door 17 on the International Arrivals Level, cross two crosswalks and continue to Public Passenger Pickup. | About 60–90 minutes after landing |
These time windows are practical planning estimates, not guarantees or airport rules. Checked baggage, customs, immigration, mobility requirements, children and group size can all change the time needed to reach the vehicle.
Where to meet a limo after a domestic arrival
After collecting your bags, follow the signs for Arrivals – Canada. Domestic passengers should use Door 24 on Level 1 Airport Services Plaza. The public pickup area is beyond the first crosswalk on the right as you leave the terminal.
Contact the chauffeur or dispatch once you have your luggage and are ready to leave, unless your reservation specifically includes an inside-terminal escort. The curb is for immediate loading, so a limousine may be waiting in an approved holding location until the passenger is ready. Follow the day-of-arrival instructions supplied with your booking rather than searching for the vehicle at random around the terminal.
International and U.S. arrivals take longer
Passengers arriving from outside Canada generally need to complete customs or immigration procedures and collect checked baggage before reaching the public area. Those steps take place within controlled arrivals areas, and timing can vary considerably between flights.
Follow signs for Arrivals – International and USA, then leave through Door 17 on the International Arrivals Level. From there, cross two crosswalks and proceed to Public Passenger Pickup. Because the exit process is less predictable, an international airport limousine transfer in Vancouver should be scheduled with more flexibility than a domestic pickup.
Meet-and-greet versus curbside pickup
“Meet-and-greet” can describe several different arrangements. An inside-terminal service may involve a chauffeur meeting you after baggage claim with a name sign and guiding you to the vehicle. A curbside service means you leave the terminal, go to the assigned pickup area and call or message when you are ready. Some bookings include a name sign but still use a designated exterior meeting point.
Ask these questions before confirming the reservation:
- Will the chauffeur meet me inside the terminal or at the curb?
- Which terminal door and pickup area should I use?
- What phone number should I contact after collecting my bags?
- Where will the vehicle wait while I clear customs or baggage claim?
Commercial vehicles picking up directly at YVR must follow airport approval and dispatch procedures. For current locations and curb instructions, check YVR’s official pickup and drop-off guidance as well as your chauffeur’s instructions.
Tell the operator about luggage, not just passengers
A vehicle that fits six passengers may not fit six large suitcases comfortably. At the time of booking, provide the number of checked bags and carry-ons, along with any skis, snowboards, golf bags, strollers, wheelchairs or other oversized items. A sedan, SUV, executive van or larger vehicle may be appropriate depending on the luggage volume.
This is especially useful for airport journeys continuing to Whistler, a residence in the Fraser Valley or a multi-stop itinerary. If an airport arrival becomes the start of a Fraser Valley leisure trip, a separate wine-tour planning resource can help with the destination side of the itinerary—but the airport vehicle should still be selected around the group’s actual luggage.
What happens if the flight is delayed?
Give the limousine company your flight number, scheduled arrival time, passenger mobile number and destination. The flight number allows dispatch to monitor the arrival rather than relying only on the original schedule. You can also check YVR’s live arriving-flight information before leaving the aircraft or baggage area.
Do not request curbside pickup while you are still waiting for bags or completing customs. Once you are through arrivals and ready to walk outside, contact the chauffeur using the agreed method. If the delay is substantial or your flight is diverted, call dispatch as soon as possible so the reservation can be updated according to the company’s waiting, parking and cancellation policy.
YVR limousine pickup checklist
- Confirm whether the flight arrives in the domestic, international or U.S. area.
- Share the flight number and a working mobile number.
- List passengers, checked bags, carry-ons and oversized equipment.
- Confirm inside-terminal meet-and-greet or curbside pickup.
- Collect luggage before requesting curbside pickup.
- Use the assigned door and designated pickup area.
- Check live flight status and follow the chauffeur’s day-of-arrival instructions.
Airport doors, curb procedures, parking arrangements and commercial-vehicle policies can change. Confirm the current YVR process before travelling, and ask Royal Limo to put the meeting point and luggage requirements on your reservation. That small step prevents the most common airport pickup problem: a passenger and chauffeur waiting in different parts of the terminal.
